Supporting Theory
The Triangle
An original supporting theory of Clarity Box™. Three forces gather around every difficult experience. When you can see them, you can begin to separate them.
The Experience
The painful message that follows an experience
What it means
The Experience is the fear, shame, guilt, self criticism and painful memories that gather around a difficult experience. It speaks in absolutes: I am broken, I am unlovable, I should have known better.
How it develops
It develops when an experience is not acknowledged, when responsibility is left unsorted, and when identity is allowed to merge with the event.
How it affects interpretation
It reshapes interpretation, every new event is read through its lens, and everything begins to confirm the same message about you.
How it strengthens the Experience
It grows louder when the inner voice repeats it and when outside voices echo it. Silence and avoidance also feed it.
How the three elements interact
The Experience is amplified by the Inner Voice and validated by the Outside Voice, forming a closed loop where the message feels like truth.
Related Pillar
Acknowledgment weakens the Experience by naming it clearly and refusing to accept it as identity.
How to recognise it in yourself
- • It uses absolute words: always, never, entirely, forever.
- • It confuses an event with who you are.
- • It resists context, fairness and evidence.
Apply it to your situation
Separate the three corners, guided
Write what is true for you in each corner. You will get a reflection that separates your identity from the event, and the event from other people's judgments.
